An absolutely wonderful album... fantastic, one of the best in the history of dt... if not the best. There are some truly fabulous tracks, for example, I would like to mention "Another Day", simply stunning, and "Pull Me Under", and what about "Wait For Sleep?" then "Mestropolis" is legendary, not even worth commenting on.
I got to know this band thanks to my uncle who is 34 years old, and this proves that it is not music for kids, it's not just listened to by anyone, you have to listen to this music not with your ears but with your heart. It's certainly not those pathetic SOAD. Petrucci's skill is indescribable, not to mention Labrie... In short, they are all truly amazing... Let's get back to the album, in short... FABULOUS. Even Awake and Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence can’t compare to this album (also those are damn good CDs but not at the level of Images and Words).
Let me be clear: if you don't like this music... don’t criticize it... if you are so damn foolish as not to appreciate their talent, put something in your mouth and shut up... (that's what I tell my friends, all stupid rappers I know).
In short... in my opinion, they are the best existing band and nothing will change my mind. Ps: KEVIN MOORE COME BACK PLEASEEEEEEEEEE
This CD is a true masterpiece that will go down in history as one of the best progressive CDs.
Forget about those who tell you they’re only technique and no substance!
How did they manage to release such a beautiful collection of songs?!?
With this CD, the American band has confirmed its domination in the world of progressive metal!!
"Images And Words is an album from which every musician could learn something."
"In this, as in no other Dream Theater record, chilling atmospheres and unmistakably original sounds are created."
Pull Me Under... simply gives you goosebumps.
Take the Time... a sort of programmatic manifesto of what Theater's music is.
"It’s the album that cements Dream Theater as one of the fathers of prog metal, placing them alongside sacred monsters like Rush and Neal Morse."
"'Surrounded' is a total exaltation of the vocal capabilities of the then twenty-nine-year-old singer. Soft tones and sung whispers, the pace rises and the vocalist’s acrobatics increase."
