Dio - Holy Diver
1983 Mercury
An amazing album, where there is no weak track.
But we are talking about Ronnie James Dio, a powerful and unique voice.
In fact, his intense voice dominates all the songs, with verses and choruses that
leave a mark.
This is the hallmark of the legendary Ronnie, being able to write songs
that endure; I think there is no better quality for a musician.
Naturally accompanied by excellent musicians like Vivian Campbell on guitar,
Jimmy Bain on bass, and Vinny Appice on drums, who provide the album with a truly
energetic and convincing sound in every aspect.
Memorable songs include Holy Diver, Don't Talk to Strangers, and Rainbow in the Dark.
But the remaining songs are no less; it seems there are no fillers in this album.
For this reason, in my opinion, it should be considered a masterpiece.
Here we are talking about pure and authentic heavy metal, thrilling yet at the same time
with great catchy melodies.
Personally, I find the album's production to be of the highest level and the overall sound
clear and very impactful.
For me, among metal albums, it is one of the best, without a shadow of a doubt.

"It is, in fact, one of the milestones of heavy metal and a great classic of 80s metal."

"'Don’t Talk To Strangers' is the best of the whole album and one of the best in the group’s repertoire."
Holy Diver is one of those rare albums that you listen to with immense pleasure even after a long time.
Solid and hypnotic, like the pace I want to keep now that I don’t feel tired yet and I feel invincible.
