Debut from 1975 for the band from Tampa, Florida, one of the most important in Southern rock. This album features great classics from their repertoire, such as "There Goes Another Love Song," the instrumental "Waterhole," and their "Free Bird," like "Green Grass & High Tides," a nine-minute showcase of guitar talent, one of the peaks of the genre... more
Many consider it his masterpiece; I would simply say it is an excellent work, perhaps his most intimate, sophisticated, and melancholic album, on par with or maybe more than the previous two works. Excellent songwriting, a refined author, and a stunning voice—one of the greatest American singer-songwriters of all time, as demonstrated by gems of great beauty such as "Late for the Sky," "Fountain of Sorrow," and the closing track "Before the Deluge"... more
The first gasp of what Bruce will be. Perhaps unripe, a little awkward, but already tremendously "his." The beginning of it all could only be this. (8) more
A rock crystal that contains several extraordinary gems: from the power of the title track, to the subdued and irreverent rhythm of "Romeo and the Lonely Girl," from the anthem "The Boys Are Back in Town" to the epic Sabbath-like pathos of "Emerald." A special mention also goes to the ballad "Fight or Fall," one of my favorites from the band. Perhaps their peak. (8.5) more
In some ways, it has the same flaws as the previous "Nightlife," but here the songwriting doesn't work, especially in the new direction that Thin Lizzy wanted to give to their sound: that is, more direct, rock, even "street" compared to the psych/blues digressions of the early albums. The experiment doesn't really work, or at least I've never been able to enjoy it. (5.5) more
A good album but I’ve never found the rawness and compositional necessity of "Vagabonds..." Too "diluted", steeped in ballads that, although excellently played, leave little behind. It's still an enjoyable and relaxing album, but I find it a tad overrated. (7) more
"I want to be alone. I need to touch each stone, face the grave that I have grown. I want to be alone". Just a wonderful album for this folksinger who deserves to be rediscovered and who has influenced many of his generation (most notably, a certain Nick Drake). more

Another shining gem is added to the already priceless collection of the Cavanagh brothers' band; and I will never tire of repeating that they can touch you emotionally and profoundly like very few other bands. An album that once again stands out for Vincent's brilliant vocal interpretation, accompanied by the ethereal voice of Lee Douglas, who manages to take the songs to shores of absolute inner peace. To be listened to day, night, and forever. more
Can I break a lance for Dave? Even just for having been the drummer on albums like "Nevermind" and "In Utero"... PROBOT... more
Weidroje is the flying saucer with which the mutineers of Commander Vander escaped from the mother ship. A fantastic disc even if the audio quality is not top-notch. If it were branded Magma, it would be one of their best albums. And that says a lot. more
The first real record by the Irish. More compact songwriting, less derivative and confusing. There are true standout tracks like "The Hero And The Madman," "Slow Blues," the title track, and "The Rocker," featuring an extraordinary guitar solo by Eric Bell. The best of their early career, even if it's not a complete masterpiece. (8) more
Superior to the previous one, but with some of the same flaws. Very bluesy and not very hard 'n' heavy. Enjoyable. (6.5) more
A rather confusing album, where I never quite understood where Lynott wanted to go with it. Not exactly trash, but the ideas are all just sketched out and need development. (5.5) more
Old school death metal. The voice of an entire genre. more
