Dark Quarterer -Dark Quarterer
The manifesto of Italian epic metal. more
Falkenbach
The last great bard of the Germanic lineage. Now he crosses the wooded lands of his ancestors, to praise Wuotan and all the other gods who from Whallalla observe the deeds of their pagan singer. more
Queen -Queen I
An album to which I owe so much for my initial musical training, and to which I am infinitely linked. I still consider it a stylistically magnificent debut, with at least 4-5 sought-after but unfortunately forgotten gems ("My Fairy King" and "Doing All Right" among them). In short, hard-hitting Hard Rock with Progressive and Glam Rock influences and fantasy themes that will be so dear to certain later Heavy Metal. 8.5. more
Led Zeppelin -Led Zeppelin IV
The MASTERPIECE par excellence!! Black Dog, Rock n Roll (my absolute favorite) and that song that even the stones know by heart, perhaps the most beautiful song ever, with the most beautiful solo of all time, the immense Stairway To Heaven.... I'll stop here, and I might just go listen to it again for the umpteenth time!!! more
Pink Floyd -The pipers at the gates of down
Pioneering the genre, recorded simultaneously with the Beatles' Sgt. Peppers in the adjacent studio, it doesn't quite capture the climax of the live performances of the moment but remains a cornerstone for English psychedelia and beyond. more
Pink Floyd
The Gods! more
Wire -Chairs Missing
Slightly less than the debut, though perhaps more varied. A great masterpiece of punk-new wave that doesn’t shy away from melodies, especially the last tracks which are truly beautiful. more
Lenine -Olho de Peixe
The first CD I bought was in Terras Brasilis. Recorded with Suzano (a great innovator of the pandeiro), in Recife in 1994, it's already a classic of MPB. Leão Do Norte has become a Pernambucano anthem that everyone here knows how to sing. Without a doubt, one of the best Brazilian records of the last twenty years. more
Mark Lanegan
When they sing, there are three of them. more
Nirvana -MTV Unplugged In New York
It's November 18, 1993, and Nirvana are recording this beautiful Unplugged in New York. The champions of acid rock and uncompromising noise put aside their fury and electricity for one night; the 14 tracks are played with acoustic instruments, resulting in a richness of emotional pathos, a disarming sweetness in execution, harmonious and graceful. "Pennyroyal Tea," my favorite song, where Kurt is alone with his guitar...POLLY... more
KISS
Excessive, over-the-top in their look, skilled at replicating the best of Hard Rock and Glam in the early part of their career; not particularly nice either. But unbeatable in their theatrical and spectacular concerts...DETROIT ROCK CITY... more
Minutemen -Double Nickels On The Dime
And should I also define it a work like this? Five stars right away, a cornerstone of post-punk. more
Soft Machine -BBC Radio 1967-1971
A stunning live album, the culmination of the golden period of the English band... more
The Raincoats -Odyshape
Post-punk? Low-fi? A female band definitely ahead of its time and out of the ordinary. I bought the album as soon as it was reissued on CD. And I liked it. more
Sonic Youth -Daydream Nation
The fact that this may not be the group's best album is the best proof of how extraordinary SY were. Monumental yet always inspired, masterpieces from start to finish: Teenage Riot, Cross The Breeze, Total Trash, Candle, Trilogy - perfect tracks. Because in the '80s, good music wasn’t made. more
Dead Kennedys -Fresh Fruit For Rotting Vegetables
Kill The Poor, Chemical Warfare, California Uber Alles, Stealing People's Mail, Holiday In Cambodia: so many masterpieces from one of the best albums of the punk era: hardcore performed at times more with the interpretative oddity of Pere Ubu than with the screams of anger from their peers, despite the violent political message. more
Martin Scorsese
We could spend hours writing word after word to praise him, and perhaps it still wouldn't be enough!!! GENIUS! more
Cannibal Corpse -Vile
Chris Barnes has left the band; in his place comes George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher, known for a growl singing style that is slightly less dark but still aggressive and lethal. The sonic magma that emerges from the fifth album of the Buffalo band is filled with ferocity and wickedness: they are the masters of Brutal Death Metal, and they reaffirm this once again in the eleven tracks that make up the album. "Devoured By Vermin" opens the collection in a simply devastating way...MONOLITH... more
Tom Keifer
Artist far too underrated!!! more
