Sufficiency, nothing less nothing more. The fact is that I can't help but feel a certain sympathy for them. The lyrics leave me with some doubts: are they simple and immediate on purpose, or is Pierpaolo Capovilla a mediocre songwriter? The music, to me, is not much; I mean, they can certainly play, but they convey little or nothing. Capovilla's voice, although it's not one of the best (understatement), is theatrical, and thus it pulls you in, it's magnetic. more
For me, the quintessential progressive group, at least until "...and Then There Were Three": extraordinary musicians, creators of captivating dreamlike masterpieces, imaginative, romantic, and majestic ("Selling England" and "The Lamb" two monuments). More than commendable, despite everything, is their subsequent pop production (at least in my opinion). more

Imposing box set, divided into four CDs, that traces the band's career from 1978 to 2001 when they recorded for Fiction Records. Seventy tracks of unreleased material, B-sides, covers, contributions to soundtracks; essential and fundamental for all lovers, like me, of Robert Smith's group. "Mr. Pink Eyes," "Burn (from the movie "The Crow")," and "World In My Eyes (cover of Depeche Mode)" are my favorite songs from this latest masterpiece of the English band...THROW YOUR FOOT... more

The only thing I can say is that they are unique in the history of rock. Hats off to the creativity and, above all, to the consistency of David Thomas and company! more
An essential milestone for both the history of rock and singer-songwriter music. Extraordinary and deeply inspired lyrics, divine arrangements (Al Kooper's keyboards!) for 9 unforgettable gems, from the epic ride of the immortal "Like a Rolling Stone" to the delirious scenes of the hypnotic "Desolation Row," passing through the unsettling visions of the disturbing "Ballad of a Thin Man" and the disarming sweetness of "Queen Jane Approximately." A masterpiece. more

"From here, my lord, one dominates the valley..." A spectacular opening for an extraordinary group. Absolute epicness, thrills, strong emotions, beautiful lyrics, mind-blowing instrumental parts, and the incredible voice of "Big" Di Giacomo. What could be better? Perhaps only the two that follow. more

Together with the 5uu's, they are the main players in the American RIO scene, succeeding with flying colors in the task of effectively developing a style born in Europe. They do this while preserving the drama of the Belgian school, and from Henry Cow they inherit the compositional genius, skillfully altering the style of singing, the only way to break away from the icon Dagmar Kraus. A notable level of adversity*. more
I like her, but I have no idea if she can be considered a true artist. I mean, did she really put herself into her music? Was her music innovative or beautiful? Is there really any reason to distinguish her, say, from Tiziano Ferro, BIGBANG, MattyB, and similar "artists" who are considered terrible? more
For me, more than just a talented singer-songwriter, I would define her almost as a phenomenon; the first album, in my opinion, is astounding. And let's consider that she wrote A Thousand Miles at the age of 16. In the latest EP Blue Pool, she dived into a slightly more hypnotic indie sound with results that are more than satisfying. TRUE ARTIST! more
Music that seems "easy" only on the surface. By delving deeper into the listening experience, one uncovers wonders, timeless melodies and vocal harmonies, meticulously crafted arrangements, and in some cases, pioneering. Pet Sounds, in particular, contains a myriad of ideas and insights... a true Pop "Pandora's Box," and the same goes for Smile. I hold it in great affection. more
A record balancing between acclaim and criticism. For me, it's very beautiful. Burzum's music is tinged with pagan (almost Viking) hues, set against obsessively linear compositional structures. An evocative first part with decidedly metal sounds, followed by a second part of electroacoustic ambience dominated by the melancholy of the guitars and Varg's spoken chant; worthy of the most inspired pagan bard. more
The Thrash Metal album of the entire nineties; even Slayer can't compete with Grip Inc.'s debut. It's the percussive tribal notes of the brief instrumental "Toque De Muerto" that initiate the subsequent sonic assault; the incredibly fast and twisted "Hostage To Heaven" and "Colors Of Death" demonstrate once again why Dave Lombardo is a technical monster on the drums. They wouldn't be able to replicate such ferocity with their later works...LONGEST HATE... more
