Until "Wind and Wuthering," a competition for the most beautiful album, narrowly won by the inimitable "Foxtrot." After Hackett's departure, to say the least, things became quite irritating. more
In the '80s, 4AD hit the mark every time: Gothic-Progressive with dark, melancholic shades, emotional and one of a kind. An arrow straight to the heart. more
Dark and murky hyperThriller by Bowie-Eno. Schizophrenic and experimental. Underrated.
"There is no hell, there is no shame. It’s today that it happens, the damage is today; now, not tomorrow, it’s happening now. The cold winter bleeds on the beams of Babel. Revolution arrives in the strangest ways. It’s the dirty lesson of the heart, the filthy lesson of the heart that strikes deaf ears. What a fantastic abyss of death. Tell the others!" more
Horrendous singer, tacky guitarist, and an average rhythm section. Unduly idolized, sometimes even considered the inventors of hard rock (Fortunately, such people are fading away). Overrated, with a terrible discography featuring many truly awful albums, saving only the debut, Led Zeppelin II, and Physical Graffiti. more

Before being overwhelmed by the fucking Rock n' Roll and the most spastic electronic music, I primarily fed on stuff like this when I was 14. Depeche Mode, Ultravox, Human League, Duran Duran (for real!)... well, it was still the '80s, and I hadn't yet discovered Husker Du. The fact is that albums like Some Great Reward, Black Celebration, and especially Music For The Masses remain excellent works of synthetic pop. Nothing to complain about. more

"It boils like a pot the gurgling, it makes the sea like a jar of ointments. No one on earth is like him, made to not be afraid. Every more haughty being fears him; he is the king over all the proud beasts." (Job 41) more
