The Afghan Whigs
Unfortunately, while recognizing their talent, this band has never really captured me. I quite liked "Up In It," the only one of theirs that I enjoyed from start to finish. more
Soundgarden -Ultramega Ok
In addition to the fury that the whole record unleashes (never less than maximum for them, until '91), 5 MINUTES to be written down immediately in the annals: those of "Smokestack Lightning" - the best cover ever...? It’s in a fight with that live version by Quicksilver ("Maiden Of The Cancer Moon"). more
Paul Kantner & Grace Slick -Sunfighter
Underrated also because of the previous masterpiece, this album is a twilight and tormented post-psychedelic work, visionary and angry. The first track, Silver Spoon, rightfully belongs among the best works of Jefferson A. or S.; if all the songs had been at that level of inspiration, perhaps the final result would have even surpassed Blows... anyway, it's splendid. And a great cover as well. more
