THE REVIEW

They eat it, as their moniker suggests. They get high like buffaloes and then start churning out moldy riffs as powerful as Gundam's erection.

They may not be very original (and this is a big flaw), but their sludge/stoner/heavy/psych damned stinky metal is pleasantly digestible and assimilable: they hit, scream, crap, and vomit in their songs, and tracks like "Mancoon", "Palms and opium", and "Homecoming" are full proof of that.

Zero cerebralism, zero spectacular solo escapes with sparkling instruments. A half-hour of cannons and drugs, whatever they may be. These three Americans from North Carolina are gritty enough to make Saint Vitus shiver. Yet there is one big problem. They are their faint copy...

1. "The Great Unfurling" (1:06)
2. "Hammerhandle" (3:01)
3. "Mancoon" (2:12)
4. "Turkey Warlock" (3:03)
5. "Jason...The Dragon" (5:58)
6. "Palms And Opium" (3:47)
7. "Long Gone" (3:55)
8. "March Of The Bipolar Bear" (0:59)
9. "Homecoming" (4:34)
10. "Whiskey Creek" (5:44)

Summary by Bot

Weedeater's Jason...The Dragon delivers raw and powerful sludge/stoner metal with heavy, gritty riffs. The album is energetic and unrefined but suffers from a lack of originality. Tracks like 'Mancoon' and 'Palms and Opium' showcase their signature sound. While the band's intense style grabs attention, it may feel too familiar to fans of the genre.
