Having A Rave Up c'è

This is the first album that absolutely puts the electric guitar at the center of attention, a forerunner of works of the caliber of Are You Experienced and Texas Flood.

The transition from Clapton’s radical blues to Jeff Beck’s experimentation marked a turning point in rock history.

Explore Yardbirds' Having A Rave Up and experience the roots of hard rock and legendary guitar mastery.

See the stars come joining down from the sky,
Gently passing, they kiss your tears when you cry.

Note: Many different recordings of the song exist, each with differing lyrics. I have tried to collate the important lyrics here - inevitably some lines will be missed out, and the order of verses changed. The studio version consists solely of the middle three verses. Other recordings, in particular the 'Five Live Yardbirds' and the BBC sessions versions, start with the first verse and also include the last verse (both in '{ }' braces).

You and Having a Rave Up

The Yardbirds

The Yardbirds are an English rock band formed in London in 1963, key to the British Invasion and famed for launching Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, and Jimmy Page. They bridged blues, pop, and psychedelia, pioneering fuzz, feedback, and raga-tinged sonics on hits like For Your Love, Heart Full of Soul, and Shapes of Things. After disbanding in 1968, they reformed in 1992 and have continued to tour and record, including the 2003 album Birdland.
