No one has reviewed it yet? Okay, I'll do it. Prefacing that I've listened to only a few albums by the Turin band, I can say as an ignorant listener that this is a good album.

"Eden" as stated on the band's website is the result of a collective effort. You can feel this, as the tracks are a heterogeneous mix of the Subsonica members' tastes, although shaped to be encapsulated in the same package.

"Eden" opens with the title track that structurally resembles Radiohead's 15 steps, based on an almost fixed drum line (probably drum-machine), a fresh guitar, and a hopeful text. In reality, this is the last song they wrote, an initial bonus track aside. The rest of the album has a more dark, more hypnotic, more danceable, more electronic, and more Subsonica style. The lyrics, which contain biblical references (sometimes interesting, sometimes naive), lead the listener to immerse themselves in the album between dub rhythms (Serpente), ballads (Quando, Istrice), and hard and wild beats (Benzina Ogoshi, Prodotto Interno Lurido). Notable is Diluvio, which light-heartedly (but not overly so) talks about the loss of adolescent virginity and the awakening in what is probably an autobiographical text. Musically, it recalls Vianello, Dick Dale, and the Prodigy. Impossible? No. Less successful, however, is La Funzione, a track with an 80's atmosphere written with the Righeira, but it lacks the verve of Nuova Ossessione with Krisma.

Without going into detail about the remaining tracks, I believe that Subsonica have achieved a stylistic maturity, experimenting and evolving yet not forgetting the live aspect and their impact with the audience.
