Squallor is an Italian comedy-music quartet formed by Alfredo Cerruti, Totò Savio, Daniele Pace and Giancarlo Bigazzi (with Elio Gariboldi involved early on). Active mainly between 1973 and 1994, they released fourteen records and made two films, producing deliberately irreverent, often spoken-word or sketch-like pieces over crafted musical backings.

Founding members: Alfredo Cerruti, Totò Savio, Daniele Pace, Giancarlo Bigazzi; Elio Gariboldi participated on the first album. The group released 14 records and two films (Arrapaho, Uccelli d'Italia). Daniele Pace died in 1985; Totò Savio died in 2004; Giancarlo Bigazzi died in 2012; Alfredo Cerruti died in 2020. Last studio album: Cambiamento (1994).

DeBaser's reviews present Squallor as an Italian, irreverent comedy-music quartet whose work mixes musical craft with deliberate absurdity. Critics admire their daring and record-making skills while noting uneven results and controversial taste. Notable records discussed include Vacca, Pompa, Arrapaho and the 1994 album Cambiamento.

For:Fans of Italian musical satire, collectors of cult/novelty records, listeners who enjoy irreverent and absurd comedy in music.
