American nu-metal band from Santa Barbara, California, formed in 1995. Frontman James Lynn Strait (1968–1998) died in a car accident; the band is known for the album Get Some and the tribute album Strait Up.

Snot mixed punk, metal, funk and hardcore; they played Ozzfest 1998. James Lynn Strait died on December 11, 1998. The posthumous tribute album Strait Up collected contributions from many nu-metal artists including Jonathan Davis, Serj Tankian, Max Cavalera, Brandon Boyd and Fred Durst. The band’s catalog includes Get Some, Alive! and the Strait Up tribute; unreleased tracks such as "Absent" and the song "Until next time" are noted in reviews.
