No way. I don't like Sepultura like this, an absolutely bare album with only a few worthy highlights such as the song "Moloko Mesto" or "Ludwig Van" but nothing else; starting with tracks like the endless "A-Lex" and the four parts that compose them scattered throughout the CD, absolutely tasteless as well as useless. It was supposed to be an album built on the concept of A Clockwork Orange, and the idea intrigued me a lot, but even here there is water everywhere, the concept is indecipherable, and you absolutely can't understand where the key to reading the album is, only (and not convincingly) guessed from the two aforementioned songs.

Let's talk about technique, they still have the good Andreas Kisser who is as useful in this band as Joe Satriani in Linkin Park! It's true that a guitarist shouldn't only provide solos, but the substance is really missing; they found a new drummer, truly formidable, I think the only member (excluding Kisser) truly qualified in the band considering the presence of a bassist who has always been a plague for Seps and a singer who has never heard of growl and who suddenly found himself having to use it, just listen to any track to understand that his growl is a clean singing merely shouted to stiffen it a bit... longing for Max!

It lacks substance... yes, that's exactly what can be seen from all the effects inserted in the various pieces that accomplish absolutely nothing, since the songs do not engage at all and are truly boring. If at one time the Brazilians' intention was to protest, they definitely stopped with "Nation" (another mediocre album), only to result in these last two pseudo-concepts of very little definable consistency. I have been brief, but it's just an album that I cannot digest.

Thanks also to Derrick Green who has started singing better, A-lex opens a glimpse of light for Sepultura.

In conclusion, A-lex is a mediocre album but certainly superior to the Brazilian quartet’s latest efforts.

Who the hell are these guys? Are they Sepultura? Sure, and I’m Joe Satriani.

The only burial I notice is yours, your self-collapse.

Sepultura embraced a new path, leading them to experiment ever more, reaching what we could define as progressive thrash metal.

The songs last just long enough, with Andreas Kisser’s solos weaving the plots of a claustrophobic and sick world.
