Pink Floyd has never let us down.
And in fact, they gift us another masterpiece, titled "Wish You Were Here", among the absolute best masterpieces from the Pink.
This album can be considered a concept album, dedicated to Syd Barrett, who came to visit the four during rehearsals. The others did not recognize him, they thought he was a cleaner. When Waters discovered who was really hiding behind that fat, bald man with shaved eyebrows (incidentally, this last detail is picked up in the film "The Wall"), he burst into tears.
The record in question has five songs, including one song split into two parts, namely "Shine On Your Crazy Diamond": one part at the beginning and another at the end.
The other tracks include the majestic "Welcome To The Machine", marked by electronic noises and Gilmour's grand voice.
"Have A Cigar" is the least successful episode of the album, although we are still on a high level.
The penultimate song, "Wish You Were Here", remains among the most moving and famous songs of Pink Floyd, surrounded by a wave of melancholy.
As already mentioned, the record closes with the second part of "Shine On Your Crazy Diamond", which echoes the same theme traced by the first part.
Tell me, isn't this the real music?
P.S.: (If there should be any errors, kindly point them out without insults or complaints. And besides, no one could comment perfectly on this masterpiece)
A few words on the matter are necessary to describe five tracks of rare perfection, of pure psychedelia.
When the stereo starts playing, it becomes clear why this album is a true milestone in the history of rock.
Pink Floyd, what are they? They are a ray of sunshine in a messy room.
Only when you hear the four notes of 'Shine On' do you understand... that you have arrived... and have only just begun.
"Wish You Were Here can be defined as a concept album about absence: of the word, but also of the individual and thought."
"Pink Floyd were, are, and always will be the group that achieved pure perfection, both musically and ‘textually’."
It was as if he had never left the group; indeed, he hovered like a ghost, bringing sad memories that then influenced, more or less, the songs and themes of Pink Floyd.
A masterpiece, giving chills even today, undoubtedly one of the most beautiful songs of all time.
The emotions given by Gilmour’s guitar are impressive and indescribable. To be listened to at dawn.
The album concludes with the second part of Shine On You Crazy Diamond, which in my opinion remains the most important reason to purchase this CD.
