The Verve - Catching the Butterfly
While the Gallaghers were smashing guitars in each other's faces and Blur were going through detox, there were the Verve!

When talking about "Icarus," the song that represents it is "Più Su," worthy of the most classic #diteloallozioiside, especially for the final spoken part that continued to be repeated for at least the next two decades (“Thank you for this meeting... oh thank you... etc. etc.). But the real gem was this one, where the hand of Evangelisti and Pintucci is very much felt. Sure, our little Renatino signed it too; he's no fool. Here’s the studio version recorded about ten years later: Renato Zero - Chi Più Chi Meno (Edizione Originale)

Yellow Magic Orchestra - Stairs (2019 Bob Ludwig Remastering)
The more I listen to them, the more I'm convinced they are a cyborg space version of Tuxedo from What Use/Incubus...

Francesco De Gregori - Buonanotte Fiorellino (Still/Pseudo Video)

Some of De Gregori's songs I find really overly sentimental, excessively adolescent; I almost completely agree with the few critiques he received from critics of that time.
