Annie - Mak

Hello everyone, after almost a year since writing this piece, I felt like sharing it with some listeners.

For me, it's a very meaningful piece, so before sharing it here as well, I thought about it a looooot. I hope it doesn't bother you.

I don't understand why no one cares about them here on the Deb.

"The Wild whore laughs"

The Wild whore laughs
like an ancient spinster

Crone, we see you, come again
in the mind

I lie like fever

Dancing your nubile hush
willing to be possessed
untold stories
dare injuns rise

Trampled, like red-skins
sacred fore-skin
Cancer began w/the knife’s
cruel blow & the damaged
rod has risen again
in the East
like a star
on fire

안창홍 / Ahn Chang Hong, "Visual artist," born in 1952, lives and works in Seoul, South Korea.

A typical solitary is reflected in his works.

Traces of misery and splendor are found equally in his paintings and in the artist's obsessive interest in desertion and solitude, alienation and anxiety, the bestiality of human character, fear and tragedy.

Through perverse and twisted portraits of himself and his family, Ahn has already expressed his fear and distance from the torn outside world.

The fear that he rendered in the black eyes of his family members and their gaping mouths could still cast a dark hue on his soul.

This dark aspect of Ahn cannot be fully attributed to his personal history or character.

We often interpret the nuances of our historical life, particularly regarding our grim social consciousness, which carries a burden, and this is reflected in his works.

His method of representation, however, is far from faithful to the circumstances.

His inclination is more towards transforming reality into fables.

In this transformation, Ahn beautifully showcases the fundamental tragedy of human character, a distortion in human character that remains unhealed.

These are some of the reasons why I believe the artist Ahn Chang Hong will be remembered.
