Lucio Dalla - Quale allegria
I remember that years ago, on this site, I promised to create a ranking of "my" top 10 Dalla albums (as I did for Fossati, Pino Daniele, and Venditti) in order from least to most beautiful. A promise I never kept, because I tried and tried again, but I could never manage to establish a precise order, neither objectively nor subjectively. It's one of those rare cases where I truly struggled, because the trio with Roberto Roversi and the singer-songwriter trio '77 - '80 all deserve to be in a shared first position, or at least interchangeable depending on my mood.
However, there’s one thing I’ve never doubted: this has always been my absolute favorite. An absolute masterpiece, a disarming beauty. And thank goodness that just a year earlier he was considered incapable of writing lyrics... take that...
