Three or four little things I read about Stephen Ray Vaughan, "Stevie" to his friends:
- At just seven years old, he started playing guitar, following in the footsteps of his brother Jimmie Lee.
- At seventeen, he dropped out of school to fully dedicate himself to music, being self-taught, without any knowledge of music theory, he plays, sings, and composes by ear.
- Shortly before turning thirty-six, after his last concert, he crashed a helicopter into a hill due to heavy fog.
- In 2007, "Classic Rock Magazine" ranked him third in their list of the 100 "Wildest Guitar Heroes."
