The film wins six, I say 6 Academy Awards, and a whopping 7 Golden Globes plus a thousand other recognitions, not exactly small potatoes.

Well, John "Legend" Roger Stephens sings, plays and even produces himself, not a bad story.

The plot is more than predictable but flows smoothly, albeit with a final twist that partially changes the entire romantic storyline.

Emma Stone even wins the Coppa Volpi for "Best Female Performance" at the 73rd Venice International Film Festival.

But maybe it's because (ever since "Drive," directed by Danish Nicolas Winding Refn) I have a bit of a crush on Ryan Thomas Gosling; in my opinion, the Canadian outshines everyone by a few lengths, without taking anything away from the excellent Stone, who sings, dances, acts and, above all, plays those black and white keys exceptionally well, chapeaux!
