Werner Herzog has directed various works, some theatrical, some for television and cinema, including short films, medium-length films, and also feature films. This afternoon (at the office), I watched one of his latest films, a thriller from 2016 titled "Salt and Fire," adapted from a story by Tom Bissell, "Aral."

Set in Bolivia near the Uturuncu volcano, a scientific delegation sent by the UN, consisting of two men and one woman, is kidnapped before they can even begin their research for which they were hired. They encounter all sorts of troubles: explosive dysentery from food meant for humans, varying degrees of violent interrogations, and journeys for the handcuffed woman. There’s a meeting of two blind children in a salt desert that covers some underlying molten magma, and in the original soundtrack, pieces sung by the "Tenores Concordu de Orosei." Uh, but I won't spoil too much for you... Vocals: Voches de Sardinna A Una Rosa
