“Bloody Sunday” is the name of a tragedy that occurred on Sunday, January 30, 1972, in Derry, a city in Northern Ireland.
On January 30, 1972, there was a peaceful demonstration by supporters of Irish unification in Derry. However, a team of paratroopers from the British Army, under the command of Colonel Derek Wilford, opened fire on the crowd.
A total of 14 people died, including some minors, and there were injuries. It was proven that all those who were killed by the soldiers were unarmed, and some of them were shot in the back.
