In '68, New Trolls released their first album, a true "psychedelic concept album" that combined musical pieces with the works of poet, lyricist, and libertarian anarchist Riccardo Mannerini.
This album also featured the collaboration of Fabrizio de André, who was 28 at the time, and who reworked the poems of his friend Mannerini (who tragically took his own life at 52 after suffering from deep depression) to make them suitable for music.
