This is a radically different Swan Lake even though the score is indeed that of Tchaikovsky. First of all, Odile/Odette is interpreted by a man and the entire corps de ballet consists of men. It’s very modern and delves into the issues of a prince who can have everything, exploring his relationship with his mother. The flock of swans, of which the queen is a part, is killed by the swans themselves, just as the prince mourns them. But the ballet, even if you’re not passionate about it, I recommend you take a look. It has overturned all the characters and these are swans that dance. THESE ARE SWANS THAT DANCE. Please take the time to watch it.
