I am sorry to learn that after a long battle against terminal prostate cancer (diagnosed since 2018) that had already metastasized to the bones, William McChord Hurt, one of my favorite actors, has left us forever. He starred in films such as Ken Russell's "Altered States," Lawrence Kasdan's "Body Heat," Kasdan's "The Big Chill," and Héctor Babenco's "Kiss of the Spider Woman," based on the beautiful book by Manuel Puig, for which he won both the Oscar for Best Actor and the "Prix d'interprétation masculine" at the Cannes Film Festival, just to name a few of his early films. Rest in peace.
