Donna Summer took this song on tour, in a show with dancers that alluded to sexual acts, and in an interview with the "Telegraph," she stated: "I will never sing it again, never again because in Italy, 5000 men, while I was singing 'Love to Love You Baby,' started pushing the stage back and I had to run to my trailer in the back, where they followed me and started making it sway, um, I thought I was going to die, you understand?"

The single was released in the States in November of '75, becoming a massive hit in nightclubs around the world, but then a "scandal" broke out, and the BBC banned the song from being broadcast. In the States, Reverend Jesse lashed out against the song, claiming it caused a significant increase in pregnancies among teenagers (then he said not to blaspheme, you beast uncle).
