Ivan's mother was from Alghero, Sardinia, and there is a popular legend that Ivan was born on the Olbia-Civitavecchia ferry, which is where his name derives from, "navi" spelled backward.

Just past eighteen, he founded the group "Ivan e i Saggi," later changing the name to "Anonima Sard... uh, I mean "Anonima Sound."

Ivan left the "Anonima Sound" to serve in the military (which was compulsory at the time), and in '72, he began his solo career under the pseudonyms "Rockleberry Roll" and "Ivan & Transport," while also starting a career as a comic book artist around the same time, but that’s another story, and nothing...

It is an ambitious album, and on the first listen, what immediately stands out is the significant and pleasant presence, though not invasive or redundant, of brass and flutes that elegantly decorate almost all tracks. dosankos
