- Today's review by Cialtronius (which I gave 2 stars) is what it is, and first of all, after reading it twice to make sure I didn't miss anything, even regarding the first paragraph, since I don’t see why we should approach it with caution (ahem, since that’s not made clear, and that's enough for the reviewer…)
- Cialtronius writes, too long, well if it really is a good movie (enough to warrant a score of 7 or 8) it can never be too long.
- There are significant omissions in this writing, like the fact that both Swinton (who also worked in the film “The Protagonists” in ’99 and in “Io sono l'amore” in ‘09) and Johnson had already participated in another Guadagnino film “A Bigger Splash,” and Fabrizia Sacchi, who worked in “Melissa P.” in ’05. Just to clarify that like many directors, he loves surrounding himself with people he has already worked with in the past, not to mention the lead actress of the original Suspiria, Jessica Harper, who is also forgotten.
- Even though a mistake can happen to anyone, I’d like to point out that the soundtrack, although very good, is not by Tom but by Thom.
And nothing, oh no, even the conclusion is contradictory when he writes “I don’t recommend it to others but I still say give it a try,” which in my house is a recommendation… but I guess in his house, it's something else...
p.s. I'm writing here what I think because (Cialtronius has hated me for a few days) and I can’t comment directly under the review...
