"To breathe the same air
as a prison guard doesn’t sit right with me
so I decided to give up
my hour of freedom if there’s anything to share
between a prisoner and his watchman
that isn't the air of that courtyard
I just want it to be prison
that isn’t the air of that courtyard
I just want it to be prison.

It started an hour earlier
and an hour later it was already over
I saw people come alone
and then together towards the exit

I didn’t expect your mistake
men and women of the court
if I had been in your place…
but I can’t be in your place

Outside the courtroom on the street
but also outside it all out there
I asked the best of my face
for a debate of dignity

so many grimaces, sneers, frowns,
try explaining that it’s spring
and then they know it but they prefer
to see it."
