The Doors - My Eyes Have Seen You "Jim Morrison & the Doors on the road" (17) It was one of the six songs from the first demo when Robby had yet to join. In Ray's parents' garage during that early rehearsal period, the guitarist was Rick Manzarek. The true song of "his" roof; from above, Jim can closely observe the subjects of his infatuation during various everyday moments. But it's not just a simple homage to voyeurism; it speaks of "eyes" watching someone who "watches a city under television skies" (the "forest" of antennas he was surrounded by), the same "eyes" that become a camera capable of capturing a soul on an endless roll of film. Ray with his stop-and-go rhythms and Robby with his distorted sound and a brief yet explosive solo make this piece very special.
