The Doors - Soul Kitchen "Jim Morrison & The Doors on the road" (2) During the Venice period, before moving in with Ray and Dorothy, Jim found abundant and very cheap meals at Olivia's, a tiny and shabby restaurant. Morrison used to pray to be allowed to stay, even after closing, in its warm and welcoming kitchen instead of facing the nighttime Los Angeles with its "cars stuffed with eyes" and its "forests of neon lights." It was the song that Densmore listened to and that convinced him to join the band. The sound is indefinable or rather it is the "unique" sound of the Doors with a driving yet quirky rhythm from Ray's introduction to Robby's solo. One of the songs I’m most attached to.
