Here we are at the third review. Three is the perfect number, so I will talk about a perfect album: "Fighting the World" by Manowar.
With this album, Manowar sanctified themselves as Gods of metal. It is indeed splendid with songs that can be listened to with great passion from the first to the last, and selecting the best ones is certainly not easy. The album is very diverse: it starts aggressively and compellingly with the TITLETRACK "Fighting the World" and then continues with "Blow Your Speakers". The third song is "Carry On", my favorite. After "Violence and Bloodshed", it's time for the gem: "Defender" an incredibly moving song that never grows old, despite being 6.01 minutes long. The sixth song is: "Drums of Doom", which is actually just an intro lasting only 1.18 minutes, meant to launch "Holy War"!!!, the song that is also one of the best anthems for metalheads. The album closes with "Master of Revenge", which is the intro to "Black Wind, Fire and Steel", a truly powerful song that captivates anyone who listens to it.
As you can see, it's clear that choosing only three songs is impossible, but if I were really forced, I would say:
1) carry on (without a doubt my favorite)
2) defender (rather a cliché choice but still obligatory)
3) holy war! (The anthem)
I imagine not everyone will think I chose the best ones, but in any case, it's normal because choosing in an album like this is really difficult.
"Eric Adams repeats the word 'FIGHT' up to 50 times!"
"It is indeed an album for those who know a good part of the 'Manowarian' repertoire but are not 'die-hard' fans of the group."
