"The Wild whore laughs"

The Wild whore laughs
like an ancient spinster

Crone, we see you, come again
in the mind

I lie like fever

Dancing your nubile hush
willing to be possessed
untold stories
dare injuns rise

Trampled, like red-skins
sacred fore-skin
Cancer began w/the knife’s
cruel blow & the damaged
rod has risen again
in the East
like a star
on fire

.: James Douglas Morrison :.
"Submerged Oboe"

Stingy sorrow, your gift delays
in this my hour
of sighed abandon.

A frigid oboe resounded
the joy of perennial leaves,
not mine, and unwinds;
in me it becomes evening:
the water sets
upon my grassy hands.

Wings oscillate in a dim sky,
faint: the heart transmigrates
and I am withered,

and the days a ruin.

Julio César Ernesto Fernandez Larraz was born in '44 in Havana, Cuba.

Son of a newspaper editor, he began drawing from a young age.

The fanciful yet realistic snapshots of life are frequent subjects of Julio.

Although these settings are common subjects of late 20th-century Latin American art, Larraz's interpretations are characterized by precise technique and a unique, detailed delicacy.

Larraz's paintings contain many biographical clues and serve as an allegory of his life, showing the progression of his childhood and travels, with studies that continue to expand his work.

Among his works, one can see painting techniques and references to surrealist painting styles, at the beginning of modern Spanish and European 17th century.
