Championship Vinyl Shop

J.S,Bach Organ Works Selection [ H.Walcha ]

Until two minutes ago, I didn’t even know who he was or that he existed; now, for me, he has become one of the greats of the Earth.

Robert Johnson - Me and the Devil Blues

On the night of August 16, 1938, Robert Johnson died.

As could be expected, his death is shrouded in mystery.

Many versions circulated about it; some said he was stabbed, or that he was killed by a woman.

The most credible version so far is that he was poisoned by the husband of one of his lovers.

But the mystery doesn't end here, as there are three different places where they say the body of the "Most important blues musician to ever live" (in the words of Sir Eric Patrick Clapton), "I have never found anything more profoundly intense, and his music remains the most heart-wrenching cry I think can be encountered in the human voice."
