Joe Strummer

What a shitty definition for an artist who kept pushing himself even after the end of his career with the main band. So humble, that he returned to play in clubs with the same drive as when he was igniting stadiums. Until his death, he poured out blood and sweat.

Joe Strummer

Joe Strummer (born John Graham Mellor, Ankara, 1952) was the co-founder, lead singer and rhythm guitarist of The Clash, later fronting The Mescaleros. Renowned for politically charged lyrics and genre-blending, he also composed film soundtracks and hosted a BBC World Service radio show. He died in 2002.
