Machine and the Synergetic Nuts

Tokyo-based jazz-rock/Canterbury-influenced quartet formed in 1997 by Toshiaki Sudoh (drums), Masahide Hasegawa a.k.a. Mahi-Mahi (sax), Hiroyuki Suzuki (bass), and Noriya Iwata (keyboards). They released a self-titled debut in 2003 and Leap Second Neutral in 2005, noted for intricate compositions and tight interplay; the latter features guests Jun Matsue (guitar) and Yuko Takahashi (percussion).
