THE REVIEW

Oh-oh-oh here I am at my very first review (and already this is not a good start, but don't hate me...).
I read the review in I-can't-remember-which magazine and I'm impressed by it, although I never really trust reviews: always over-the-top when it comes to comparisons, in this case, they mention Franz Ferdinand and Blur... huh. The day after, I accidentally stumble upon a strangely well-stocked CD store (extraordinarily rare in my area) and find this CD, and due to equally extraordinary reasons, I find the necessary money in my pockets, and since I've never been a miser, I decide to make this investment (15 euros... it's really the case to say it).
Ok... the artwork is nice, basically, it's the box of a board game but I still have to understand it better. I allow myself the first listen that same evening... at 4 in the morning in not very clear conditions... the CD sucks.

The next day, back to my senses, I listen to it again and although tempered by the various nanananaa the impression persists because lately, I am used to a bit more "raw" music: the heroes of recent months are Libertines, Mando Diao, 22-20's just to name a few... but I don't persist and finally realize the gem in front of me.
But let's go in order: in general, it's true it's Franz Ferdinand+Blur but the first track ("Everyday I Love You Less And Less") is definitely very Futureheads, really.
The best comes with "I Predict A Riot" REALLY VERY BEAUTIFUL and I already think of electing Kaiser Chiefs heroes of the day, those lalalalala have finally won me over (after all, it's normal for a Blur lover to give in so easily to a lalalalala). Things move on splendidly ("Na Na Na Na Naa"). "Born To Be A Dancer" is the II wonderful song of the album ("do you know what I am thinking I lay back and think of England do you know the real answer I WAS BORN TO BE A DANCER"). "Saturday Night" is a full-on Blur-style song... yes, but which Blur? I think especially of those from Parklife, it’s almost an extended version of Bank Holiday. And that's how we get to "Time Honoured Tradition" and "that is the end of that" or almost because there's still "Caroline, Yes", not among the best on the album in my opinion.

In conclusion: good album, maybe not very varied (after many listens I still find it hard to distinguish the tracks) but for this reason more complete and organic (AHHHH I can't believe I actually used this word to describe an album!), and then very engaging. Certainly to be avoided if you're among those who hate lalalalala.

Summary by Bot

The reviewer initially doubts Kaiser Chiefs' Employment, influenced by comparisons to Franz Ferdinand and Blur. After multiple listens, they appreciate its catchy melodies, especially 'I Predict A Riot' and 'Born To Be A Dancer.' Despite some similarity among tracks, the album is engaging and cohesive, with infectious 'lalalalala' hooks that fans of British indie rock will enjoy.

The problem is that it seems like dealing with 'interchangeable' bands.

They really add nothing to what is the modern rock scene, no innovation at the vocal level, let alone instrumental.

The Kaiser Chiefs are less interesting than the explanation behind their sudden success.

Our five lads from Leeds still have much to learn if they want to release at least another couple of records before disappearing.

This English band offers an Indie Rock with electronic nuances, which is brilliant and original.

The most rock (and perhaps the best) piece of the entire album.

"Employment turns out to be a nice record, but it’s good to listen to once, twice, maybe thrice... but in the end, it becomes tiring."

"Ricky Wilson, a wacky singer who’s a mix between Damon Albarn and a Robbie Williams under the influence of alcohol, is fun and enjoyable."
