American keyboardist and composer, best known as the keyboardist of Dream Theater and for a prolific solo discography spanning piano-led instrumentals to electronic/prog works.

Member of Dream Theater; acclaimed for technical virtuosity and solo albums. First solo album 'Listen' cited (1994) and multiple solo works reviewed on DeBaser.

DeBaser reviews consistently praise Jordan Rudess' technical skill, melodic piano work and prog credentials across several solo albums. Critics highlight both emotional, piano-led records and highly technical, electronic/prog pieces. Occasional criticisms concern vocal tracks or dense, highly-technical passages.

For:Fans of progressive rock, instrumental/piano music, and Dream Theater listeners

My favorite song: "JR Piano Medley", a fabulous piano arrangement of songs that made the history of '70s Progressive: "Soon", "Supper's Ready", "I Talk To The Wind", "And You And I".

Now I am certainly not trying to belittle this great masterpiece, because let it be clear that THIS IS A MASTERPIECE, but I think it is fair to say that it might prove difficult to assimilate for an ear unaccustomed to instrumental outbursts of this kind.
