THE REVIEW

The 5 notes of blues, in the hands of musicians like Mayall, become capable of expressing seas of emotions: intense, unique, ultimately creating pure musical enjoyment. Something that makes blues (with its countless variations on the theme) unique in its genre and a source of inspiration for (almost) every musician: it is difficult to find, in general, a rock artist who does not have something of blues in their musical upbringing, or at least the listening of B. B. King. RETURN TO THE ORIGINS. And it is in records like these that it all begins: sincere and passionate emotional outpour, moments of intense emotional charge, combined with exaggerated and vibrant solos, stretched to infinity and (who knows why) never boring. And let's not forget the sheer thrill of improvisation (the album is live). Mayall performs each piece perfectly, without ever descending into banality. BIASED, PERHAPS...

Perfect in every aspect, Mayall combines technique with a taste for "serious" guitar playing, managing to blend classicism with innovation, with solidity and inventiveness. Without degenerating, and even more importantly, giving the right space to every musician in his band. I can say that this review is influenced by a particular taste I have for blues: hearing it from someone who was about to become a master of the genre undoubtedly adds positive points to the overall evaluation. To this, you should add the excellent quality (for the time) of the recording, which helps us to understand the essence of this live CD even better, essential here to grasp the "music made instinct" primarily inherent in blues.

It’s the great bluesman John Mayall’s "Jazz Blues Fusion," an album I’ve been listening to for 22 years now and it still hasn’t bored me, so it never will.

The fusion of Blues and Jazz is a true musical marvel, a complete summation of the two musical styles that have given rise to the great modern music production.
