Beautiful debut for this band from Helsinki. The cover of their work is beautiful, and not just that. The best ingredient of this band is undoubtedly the sound that relies especially on the melodies of a violin and a cello. Just to get you excited, I'll reveal the name of the cellist, a certain Max Lilja, yes, you heard correctly, the former cellist of Apocalyptica. In short, repeated moments where the guitar almost seems to disappear, only to return immediately with powerful and precise riffs to dominate the scene. The choruses of the songs on the album are beautiful.
The album opens with "As Far As The Eye Can See", a very melodic song where you soon realize what the direction of the work in question is. The liberating chorus that comes along soon is beautiful. The melodic section that accompanies us towards the end of the song is extremely beautiful. "Beg To Differ" is one of the more rhythmically cadenced songs of the work. With "Bleed The Day" our Finns accelerate again, and the growl-style vocals almost take center stage without, however, setting aside the melodies that can be enjoyed at all times during the work. "Break Out The Hammer" is the sister of the previous song, similar in structure but different in emotions, as it seems that "Hevein" are quite keen on these types of feelings. With "Hold Fast" the rhythms do not change, but the length increases significantly for a more considered and complete song. We are now at very high levels. The chorus of this one, in particular, is beautiful.
With "Iota" they almost seem like an MTV band, but let's not underestimate it; it remains a beautiful song, sharp with a dizzying chorus and an emotional finale. In "Last Drop Of Innocence" the rhythms weaken dramatically, resulting in a concentrated burst of feelings that encapsulate a bit of the class of these young men. "New Hope" is a calm instrumental, slow but not flat like many others of their genre. "Honly Human" is, in my opinion, the "weakest" song of the work, but important because it leads us to the last one, which is "Worth Fighting For". This last piece opens with an incredible melodic play and a riff that, along with the always growl-style singing and the second voice in scream, suggests we shout to the world the satisfaction of having listened to the first cd of a band that will go far before many others.
My advice is not to think twice about purchasing this cd, as it appeals to a very wide audience. Imagine the emotions of Doom and Gothic, a very melodic Black with violin and cello to enrich our recipe...it's just a shame that they try to be too thrash, and this is poorly executed...but for the rest OK!!!!
Tracklist Lyrics and Videos
06 Bleed the Day (03:26)
Bleed the day, every and anyway.
Suck it dry. Do or do not, there is no try.
Do what they say, the elite will never pay.
You jump how high they say.
Believe what you see with your own eyes.
In the flesh it will be, not televised.
I know you want something.
The puppets speak with the master's mind.
If I never see you again, it'll be too soon.
No beginning no end, don't let the fool rule.
Mark the sky. Rage intensified.
Impressive, most impressive.
Fight, fight!
Release what you feel on the inside.
No more honesty in this world of lies.
I know you want something. We all want something.
No one speaks for me. No one speaks my mind.
If I never see you again, it'll be too soon.
No beginning no end, don't let the fool rule.
Bleed the day... (6x)
Bleed it!
Bleed the day!
Bleed it! (3x)

"Several times one might believe they’ve heard the same track before, even though the genre they produce is unique."
"The insertions of cello and violin genius as they always soften and surprise."
