An old Finnish band meets Max Lilija (formerly of Apocalyptica) and they decide to play the strangest Thrash Metal ever conceived! A lineup of unknowns, except for the cellist. A clean voice, one almost Metalcore, a guitar, a bass, drums, a violin, and a cello!!! In the end, it results in a Melodic Thrash Metal tainted with screams and nasty riffs.
"Break Out The Hammers" immediately clarifies this definition. Time flies between chorus and verse, leaving an incredibly catchy tune in mind. Strings perfectly integrated into the guitar and bass riffs. In fact, there's no feeling of missing a second guitar, while still staying in the metal vein. "Worth Fighting For You" continues in the same vein as the previous one. "iOta" presents itself as perfect for being a single, brisk, full of pathos, and also very catchy. "As Far As The Eye Can See" shows clear influences from Katatonia's Renske. It slithers between moments of depressed calm and explosions of despair. "Only Human" is a splendid ballad capable of conveying strong emotions of hope, even through lyrics interpreted to perfection by the singers. And like a slap comes "Bleed The Day", bringing back high tempos and adrenaline to the core.
Pantera make their presence felt in "Beg To Differ", another track capable of conveying contrasting emotions through the intersection of poignant string melodies and powerful, sharp riffs, as well as "Hold Fast". Preparing for the finale, there's an interlude dedicated to violin and acoustic guitars. "New Hope" showcases monstrous harmonic talents through simple yet truly unconventional arrangements. And concludes with "Last Drop Of Innocence", which, through a long introduction of female warbles, violin, and cello, slowly immerses us in the dark atmosphere of this gem. Punctuated by a clean and persistent bass, this exceptionally crafted track shows an even more experimental side of this band. Alone, it is worth the entire album. The problem is that those who love catchy music will also love this album. Several times one might believe they've heard the same track before, even though the genre they produce is unique. Yet, I find the insertions of cello and violin genius as they always soften and surprise.
A good album to listen to for all thrashers who would like unfamiliar nourishment for their ears.
Tracklist Lyrics and Videos
06 Bleed the Day (03:26)
Bleed the day, every and anyway.
Suck it dry. Do or do not, there is no try.
Do what they say, the elite will never pay.
You jump how high they say.
Believe what you see with your own eyes.
In the flesh it will be, not televised.
I know you want something.
The puppets speak with the master's mind.
If I never see you again, it'll be too soon.
No beginning no end, don't let the fool rule.
Mark the sky. Rage intensified.
Impressive, most impressive.
Fight, fight!
Release what you feel on the inside.
No more honesty in this world of lies.
I know you want something. We all want something.
No one speaks for me. No one speaks my mind.
If I never see you again, it'll be too soon.
No beginning no end, don't let the fool rule.
Bleed the day... (6x)
Bleed it!
Bleed the day!
Bleed it! (3x)

The best ingredient of this band is undoubtedly the sound that relies especially on the melodies of a violin and a cello.
It’s just a shame that they try to be too thrash, and this is poorly executed... but for the rest OK!!!!
