The Profile

Hardcore Superstar are a Swedish hard rock/glam metal band from Gothenburg, formed in 1997. They broke through with Bad Sneakers and a Piña Colada (2000) and pivoted to a heavier, metal-tinged sound with the self-titled Hardcore Superstar (2005), followed by Dreamin in a Casket (2007) and Beg for It (2009). Line-ups include vocalist Jocke Berg, bassist Martin Sandvik, drummer Magnus “Adde” Andreasson, guitarist Thomas Silver (later replaced by Vic Zino).

Origin: Gothenburg, Sweden. Early glam sleaze with pop edges shifted heavier mid-2000s. Self-released the 2005 self-titled album. Supported AC/DC as opening act. Known tracks include We Don’t Celebrate Sundays. Guitarist Vic Zino replaced Thomas Silver ahead of Beg for It.

Swedish outfit Hardcore Superstar get praised for high-energy hard/glam sleaze with a heavier mid-2000s turn. Reviews spotlight the leap from early catchy glam to more metal-infused riffs (Hardcore Superstar, Dreamin in a Casket), the glam–thrash flirt on Beg for It, and the hooky yet predictable Split Your Lip. Live, they’re loud and tight, built for sing-alongs.
