I checked my debaserian age; I didn't celebrate my first birthday, darn it! I registered during the full lockdown, and the first track I posted was Mas Allá, from the B-side of First Circle by the Pat Metheny Group, my boring favorite piece ;).
To celebrate, even if belatedly, I'm sharing with you all The First Circle, 1984, in a live DVD version.

Playing with silly associations of ideas perhaps dear only to Freud in his “The Interpretation of Dreams,” thanks to the landing of Perseverance, I was reminded of the Leto brothers, leaning more towards the social Jared than the reserved Shannon; round and round, I find Jared in every form, and some of these I actually don't mind, especially when they involve film.
Here are three aspects of the multifaceted jack-of-all-trades Jared, like it or not, just to have a little chat:
1) In a video of From Yesterday from his band 30 Seconds to Mars, directed and I believe also written by Leto himself -

2) In a performance from a Gucci fashion show a few years ago, where the artistic director Alessandro Michele had the models walk with a fetish in hand, and in Jared's case, the fetish was a perfect replica of his own head (here at a media event of the Goddess Appearance)

Unquestionably, I want to listen tonight, relaxed on the couch, already washed, ironed, scented, and in pajamas, to a classic that I adore: Going Back To My Roots by Lamont Dozier from 1977.
The piece lasts almost 10 minutes, a soul track that's enjoyable, danceable, and has been covered multiple times in disco versions.
But the surprise of this song is not at the beginning, but rather towards the end, after a solid six minutes, where it quiets down a bit and then kicks in with a captivating Afro rhythm. A return to the roots, indeed.
Returning to the roots doesn't mean being nostalgic; it means knowing who we are and being proud of it, despite everything.
Or as Lamont says, going back to the roots helps to "recharge your soul." Kisses :-*
