Type O Negative - My Girlfriend's Girlfriend [OFFICIAL VIDEO] One of those bands that has forged a unique personality with irony and caricatures (in style)
Cradle of Filth - Born in a Burial Gown (from Bitter Suites To Succubi) When I had no musical references, one of my first encounters with rock was this music video from a DVD lent to me by a schoolmate. Essentially, the costumes and settings were more cinematic than MTV. What I still find amusing is Dani Filth's (the singer) whip as he randomly lashes out at people, first on the float and then inside a sort of vampire circus tent. The gothic style elements make me smile, but I accept them. And I have a soft spot for Cradle Of Filth.
Flowers On A Grave The release date of the new album "The Kingdom" (May 2020) has not been established yet, but the new single arrives forcefully, with the usual powerful production made in Bush.
Faith No More - Stripsearch (Official Music Video) The sound structures built by the FNM are truly epic, this is one of the best.
Sleaford Mods - Jolly F*cker In May, "All That Glue" will be released, an official collection featuring all the b-sides of Sleaford Mods from 2013 to 2019. Included in the tracklist is also this single from a few years ago.
Fade Into You Today we say goodbye to David Roback. Wonderful soundscapes first with Opal and then with the much more famous Mazzy Star alongside Hope Sandoval. Thank you for these gems.
Tim Burgess - Empathy For The Devil (Official Video) this is the single that anticipates the album "I Love The New Sky," due out on May 22. @[Valentyna]
Billie Eilish - No Time To Die (Live From The BRIT Awards, London) I was pleased to discover that Johnny Marr collaborated with Hans Zimmer for the soundtrack of the new James Bond film "No Time To Die," the 25th to be exact. Here he appears at 1:45.
Mark Lanegan - Skeleton Key The new album "Straight Songs Of Sorrow" will be released on May 8th; here’s the first single. Lanegan claims these are songs inspired during the writing of his autobiography "Sings Backwards And Weep," which will be out in April. Beautiful lyrics, soaked in the despair and damnation that characterize the singer-songwriter.
Pearl Jam - Superblood Wolfmoon the second excerpt from the new album, this time more in line with the classic Pj sound.
Manic Street Preachers - No Surface All Feeling (Audio) Manic WEEK Preachers (7) The conclusion of their return after the tragedy / mystery of Richey is a gut punch of cold winter and memories of what brought them there, for better or worse. "It was no surface but all feeling, maybe at the times it felt like dreaming".
Manic Street Preachers - Faster Manic WEEK Preachers (6) Few records of this caliber exist. Richey's lyrics are intertwined with the band's enchanting (yet dramatic) melodies, and amid countless allusions and references (in this case to Orwell), there is no glimmer of light.
If You Tolerate This Your Children Will Be Next Manic WEEK Preachers (5) Unmissable, their most successful single. "The future teaches you to be alone, the present to be scared and cold; so if I can shoot rabbits, I can shoot fascists."
The Masses Against the Classes Manic WEEK Preachers (4) "Around the world, I will stand with the masses against the classes" - this is the old quote from the English Prime Minister Gladstone that inspires the Manics for this turbulent ride. Chomsky at the beginning of the track, Camus at the end, paired with electric guitars and rock n' roll.
Manic Street Preachers - Kevin Carter Manic WEEK Preachers (3) Their best music video, one of their most successful riffs, and a trumpet solo that marks the beginning of their artistic experimentation from that moment on.
Manic Street Preachers - Little Baby Nothing Manic WEEK Preachers (2) In unsuspecting times, the Manics were among the first to send BIG messages through their songs. Generation Terrorists is full of them, and Little Baby Nothing is a true anthem of feminism that doesn't hold back. Money or soul? I just need to look them in the face to choose the latter.
4 Ever Delayed Manic WEEK Preachers (1) One of their most beautiful b-sides, perhaps the most valid. An explosive guitar riff but also melodically stunning.
Hooverphonic - One Alex and the atmospheres he has been creating for years.
Bruce Springsteen - Chimes Of Freedom the version I prefer of the track, it feels tailor-made for Bruce's style.
