Luciano Pavarotti e George Benson "the greatest love of all" I ask those who understand singing technically what the hell kind of voice this man had back then (I don't mean Pavarotti, but the great George), considering he discovered he was a singer and performer at around 42 years old, because before that he only did instrumental stuff.

Giulio Cesare (Live) Another Vendittian gem, the album is mediocre, but this is a song that I believe is of great quality and also essential, it doesn't bore you to death, in short.

Grazie Roma (Live) Exciting, even though he doesn't hit the notes and the audience sings, at the time he wrote it he was still lucid.

Cosa farò da grande It’s not the most beautiful song by Gino Paoli, but it is THE SONG OF GINO PAOLI. We can define it as his personal rosary (like Pregherò by Celentano) or his programmatic manifesto. Unlike Paoli, the Molleggiato masked his introverted narcissism (a common trait between the two) and his sense of superiority through an ode to the Lord. As Scanzi will assert (whom I consider a terrible journalist and an idiot), in this case rightly, that Celentano doesn’t believe in God selflessly, but through God believes in himself. Paoli, on the other hand, will be more explicit: "if Christ were alive I wouldn’t see him here, but I don't behave badly, I run as an independent." It’s the story of a man who has reinvented himself great for the second time, who chose to reverse the course of fate in his own way, closing in on himself and preparing for his artistic reincarnation. You see, guys, because this gentleman from Genoa won’t be as cultured as Faber, won’t have the poetic lines of Guccini, won’t have the musical preparation of Fossati, but the way he draws you into his songs is unmatched. The way he enunciates the choruses makes clear how much life is in that song ("I run as an independent sempreeee). Alright, I’ve been like Sandro Curzi, but for Ginone, this and more.

George Benson - Love X Love (Live Montreux 1986) It's not on the level of Bad Benson or Body Talk from the jazz phase, it has clear commercial intentions (which is not necessarily a bad thing), but in its genre, it's a great album, especially considering how disco has deteriorated today, even elegant if we want. Then, in my opinion, Benson can make even the neighbor's crap enjoyable for two reasons: He is an absurd performer, he has an illegal voice (just watch the live with Pavarotti, divine), meaning when you hear some of his stuff, a part of you says, "No, but it's commercial," while the other part just wants to groove madly.

Claudio Baglioni - E noi due là (Videoclip) For the "shitty album series (as Baglioni had us accustomed to in the '70s and since 2000) with a song barely inspired, it always talks about the same themes but with different nuances, let's say. As for the album, I won’t comment because it’s truly unjudgable (Baglioni isn’t one for long playing), but for those who can handle it, there are terrifying flashes of class.

Amici mai The only gem of the album (a song hated by many, but I don’t care), for the rest I would have renamed it "welcome to hell."

Pino Daniele - Dubbi non ho I can't pinpoint the reason, but I like this song; I find it the only decent one in a low-level album (Che male C'è apoteosi del cringe).

Pino Daniele - 'O munn va The film is what it is, and as an old meme-maker would say, a country that offers a job opportunity to Alessandro Siani cannot be considered civilized.
But magically, Pino, when he returned to composing in Neapolitan, switched from the "milk to the knees" mode to the goosebumps mode.

George Benson & Al Jarreau - Summer Breeze
This is the proof that God exists

George Benson - Love Ballad Only Benson, another prodigy, we're in '79, makes a disco song that is originally full of molasses sound fun, that's what genius means.

George Benson - No Sooner Said Than Done - 1974 [Soul-Jazz] Month only Benson, another jazz-soul masterpiece by the great George, "Bad Benson," an album little known in Italy.

George Benson - Give Me The Night It doesn't measure up to the previous ones, but I wouldn't demonize it; it's a very nice ballad, and 80s dance music is still better than today.
