Warren Zevon - Lawyers, Guns and Money

Uhm... will it be guns? Will it be money? Hmm...
Tosca - listening guide - part one.

Placido Domingo sings: Recondita armonia

Oh, how strange! I’m a painter, I paint (even revolutionary, but we’ll talk about that in the next listens). They ask me to paint a Madonna. Now, I’m with one: black hair, black eyes, big breasts. I make the Madonna blonde, blue eyes, small breasts. Because there’s a hidden harmony. I paint this one but think about my woman... What strange things! Oh, try explaining this to your ladies, for instance... let’s see if they believe it... (come on, everyone in Rome knows about Angelotti's breasts!).
Ps1: I’m intentionally including a rather mediocre version by Placido Domingo (if I had shown you the KING, you would have been convinced! And you would’ve pulled out your handkerchiefs too!)
Ps2: I swear that - for my whole life - the useless counterpoint ‘play with the infantry and leave the infantry alone’ annoys me. Like, really annoys me physically. I don’t know, maybe Puccini was an idiot, but it’s good for you to know...
REM feat. Q-Tip - the outsiders (with lyrics)
I'm just sitting there, calm. And I wait for the end. Because the final rap was written for me. And - when I sing it - I'm almost sexier than a blonde with a pom-pom hat!
#iladri well, I like to win easily.
Marvin Gaye - I Heard It Through The Grapevine
The song isn't from this kind of genre. It was by an unknown group called the Miracles. Later, they called themselves Smokey Robinson and The Miracles. If you search for it on Google, you'll find it. They go a bit too fast. Marvin doesn't. He sings something else. Oh, it’s not that there are ways to say it. He just says what it means to make love. So no one will ever be able to do it – not again, not before – like him. He just speaks about what is beautiful. Without even knowing how to express it (but he doesn’t even question it – typical of white people). The soundtrack of my life. Always. Usually, I sing it at the top of my lungs while – on my scooter – I ride through the downpours in the morning. People say poor guy, he’s getting wet. But I have Marvin Gaye in my ears. I think that rain is part of life. And life sings. And it’s beautiful.
Pythagoras thought so, but oh well, that’s a long story (oh, also Fourier!)
La nevicata del '56-Mia Martini

or the high acqua of '66. Or the snowfall of '85. Dedicated to LL. And to all those who – in such things – can also see something beautiful. To my envy, too, of not being there. Because people talk. And they remember how much it matters. How important something is that they are. How beautiful it is. How fragile it is. How strong it is.
Gianfranco Manfredi - E Giuseppe leggeva Lenin

ahahahahah a prize for those who knew it! a prize for those who didn't know it and now do!
Renata TEBALDI. Dolente immagine. V. Bellini. Sonido Restaurado.

I envy you. Seriously. That you didn't know it. I think even a fool wandering around a city where they say "arancini" instead of "arancine" envies you. But - deep down - he couldn't care less. He was young, good-looking, and had ideas in his head.
Little Feat - Willin'
Because I've been from Tucson to Tucumcari, from Technahapi to Tonopah. Because I've driven every damn rig ever built. Because the wind caught me, and even the sleet (thanks, Australian gentlemen! (in return, I explained to you that in my city they execute kings)). Because I'm dirty and drunk. Because I've driven on back roads so I wouldn’t get caught. And because I’m still standing. And still in a whole lot of troubles. So, just for that, if you're feeling this way, that's your problem. I know how I feel. Just give me some wine, some bread, and show me where the hell I need to go. And I’m ready...
Van Morrison - Madame George
To be honest, I wanted to put on Six Feet of Snow. Because I believe that someone can get lost even in the center of Bologna (with all due respect to Lucio). And the little feet will take you home. But - in my opinion - that someone, in the streets of central Bologna, prefers to get lost. And to hear Madame George. So I’m putting this one on. You don’t get it? I don’t give a damn! I haven’t understood it for 40 years! And - of course - I love it. Should I ever have to understand in order to love? If it were that important to understand, I would have studied mathematics!
Fuoco sulla collina - Ivan Graziani

Dedicated to all those who are deluded, romantics, and fools who still see the lights on the hill. Just like when they were 16. There's a lot to be written about it, and who knows, maybe I will...
Joni Mitchell - Amelia (Live 1979)
A very young Pat Metheny unbearable... ahahahah
I listen to her, almost to love, saying that Amelia, like her, had a dream to fly...
Jackson Browne - Of Missing Persons
Don't ask me which album it's from. Don't ask me why I know it by heart. I didn't know it was dedicated to Lowell. Don't ask me why I'm singing it at the top of my lungs. And - while I'm singing - don't ask me why I'm looking up to the right. And don't ask if there are tears.
Philippe Jaroussky - Lascia ch'io pianga | Händel - Rinaldo [HD]
dedicated to another guy who stayed on the road. His name was Bjorg Lambrecht. You don't know who he is. Neither do I. But it doesn't matter. He was my brother.
