You're just good, Magister Recension...arum? Orum? Recensionae? Who even remembers Latin? There's a lot to learn from you.
Until Death Overtakes Me Symphony I - Deep Dark Red

I'm sorry, but your review doesn't provide me with enough information to understand whether I would like this album. The approach you've taken seems more suitable for an intimate piece of writing, a diary of emotions with aesthetic value. You don't even mention what instruments are played, what rhythm accompanies the tracks, nothing at all, just a collection of words that seem written for the sake of introducing concepts that want to be philosophical but lack even the slightest elaboration to be comprehensible and therefore justified ("feto? Inesistente altrove?" Huh!) No, from a review, I personally seek first and foremost data; emotions are welcome as accompaniment, but ideally conveyed in a more understandable and balanced manner.

The review is long and accurate, but a bit, how can I say, "school project"-like, with the various aspects of the production neatly categorized in due proportions. I would have preferred if you had elaborated on the nature of the individual tracks to help me envision them: for example, you say that PoS embraces metal, rock, folk, and death, and I wonder which songs lean more towards one genre or another. I only know one song of theirs that I like a lot called "Pilgrim," and I would love to discover similar ones. Certainly, you have piqued my interest with your review; however, being hypercritical by nature, I find that the conclusion is a bit vague (and also the "unexplored levels"). On the other hand, I find the section regarding the lyrics very interesting and heartfelt.

A good technical description of the style and individual tracks in a review that might be just a bit cool because, indeed, it's mainly "technical." Did it intrigue me about the album? Yes, so I will explore the SatB, I was in a deep coma musically speaking in the '80s and your and several other reviews shed light on the best dark bands of that period. Tak

"Between a psychoanalytic session and a spiritual one" Orco Giuda, I hadn't thought of that but you're completely right! Sopor is my favorite artist along with Autumn Tears. My next review will be about Dead Lovers' Sarabande vol.2 and as you'll read, if you do, I believe his production varies greatly because he constantly experiments, and even though he sells his "products," something tells me, as it does to you, that he couldn't care less about the judgment of others. And this is a trait that characterizes those who feel compelled to create something in a very specific way by a truly powerful and genuine force. When a piece turns out just right for him - for me, the non plus ultra is Vanitas Va(r)nitas - no one else matches him in intensity/musicality/creativity/gen ius in the choice of sound combinations of the various instruments. In the end, no one can give you such intimate satisfaction when, with him (of course he's a him, he has the sexiest voice since Jim Morrison died - in certain tracks, that is) you find yourself, as in a psychoanalyst's office, and with him, you drift away from the material world into the beauty of the notes.

I almost forgot: even the "description" of the tracks, if that’s what you can call it, is accurate. Then you wrote the "o" in Danish, or whatever it is, the Danish way ("odernark"), so I guess you were good at school!

If a review sparks your interest in the album in question, as long as it belongs to a genre you enjoy, it means it has succeeded, and for me, this is the case with yours. One note is the generality of some references ("well-crafted motifs" is rather vague and doesn't say much) and some metaphors, like those of imaginary landscapes and snow-capped peaks, which are quite common. On the other hand, the bolded phrases overall summarize the kind of music. In short, I'll look for it and let you know what I think. Until next time, good-bye for now.

Well guys, on one hand your comments make me laugh uncontrollably, but on the other hand I think you're being too harsh with the grades. Okay, the Italian of "sofficino" may not be orthodox; I also like to write accurately, but come on, this isn't exactly the Accademia della Crusca! To balance out the blunders, it seems there's a good dose of palpable enthusiasm, the courage to put oneself out there, and above all, a sincere attempt to communicate about important content, that is, the joy that music brings. All tied together by the search for personal metaphors (the rusty chainsaws - the cold keyboards that would freeze your hands) – I mean, I can picture the guy behind this review, which doesn’t always happen. I read the other review on the same album, excellent, sure, excellent and measured, representing a TYPE of review, but there must certainly be room for this other type, grammatically incorrect but with other qualities. Or not?

Well, even the "8 hits to the teeth" gives a pretty accurate idea of the type of music... Sofficino, your passion is evident and that's nice, some of your metaphors in this and other reviews are original and fresh; but maybe make a little effort to take care of grammar and syntax, and for the rest, when you get harsh criticism "don’t pay attention to them, just look and move on." If you allow me, you also evoke tenderness in me, but not only because I believe that your desire to communicate is genuine and that it's just a matter of time until you have the patience to write more accurately; I definitely don't think you're spamming.
