Lacrimas Profundere Memorandum
Voto:
I agree with BlackLight that there is a qualitative leap between this record and the others by Lacrimas that places Memorandum above. I slightly disagree with the repeated comparison to Anathema; I perceive these two bands as truly different. It seems to me that Anathema, with all the beauty and melancholy of some of their pieces, do not have the charge that Lacrimas possesses in this album, nor the absolute naturalness of transition from one track to another. For me, in Memorandum, they could have done without dividing the tracks, as the album is so homogeneous. Furthermore, I'm not sure I would define it as "dark doom," because the melodies and the beautiful harmonies are always present and at the forefront. I don't know, when you say dark doom, I think more of the Dying Bride or Poisonblack, perhaps because when I think of dark I mean heavy, and I find Lacrimas melodic despite the growl, which, by the way, is, how to say, graceful? And anyway, it is not always present, as it alternates with the clean vocals even within the same piece, melodic despite the driving guitar riffs. Perhaps it's a matter of juxtaposition of musical notes at the base of the work. The good thing about your review is that the enthusiasm comes through, and I hope it is contagious and encourages others to listen to Memorandum, because I also think it is one of the best CDs around.

I listened to their "The Price of Freedom" from another album. Very interesting, well done friends, a type of music that doesn't tire you easily. They have verve. For the CD you’re reviewing, it would cost me some money...poor me! What a shame!

The desolation of the misery of the countryside where nothing grows seems as appealing as the frozen wastelands: I’m getting to know the Ukrainians, let’s go! I’ll let you know what I think.
Your review holds no flaws. Happy New Year "scrivosissimo".

Um... my grammatical suggestion isn't correct upon reflection. I believe it should either be "there are: the tulle, etc., the shadows, etc." or "there are both the tulle, etc. and the shadows, etc." Since I'm rewriting to you, I wish you a happy new year, bye bye!

I really liked your review and I read it in one breath; it’s truly a snapshot of life that combines beautiful yet miserable emotions and realities (the trains in Italy...) and even affections, with the good morning/good night you gave to your mother... in short, your review is so sweet if I may use that adjective... 4 stars and not 5 due to the wobbly grammar and syntax (for example, instead of "c'e' il tulle..., le ombre," you should say "ci sono il tulle..., le ombre," and then capitalize the cities). But that doesn’t take away from the fact that you communicate both the feelings experienced and the atmosphere around you that night so well. I really like Sigur, I wonder if they will do more concerts in Italy!

Great samples, great review, and I completely agree with you on the role of music. I'm going to look for them!

Hum... very interesting! To be explored as soon as possible. A bit brief as a review, but it conveys the essentials very well. The only note, if you allow me, is that by "acoustic" I understand instrumental music, but instead the tracks are sung, so I'm not sure what you mean by acoustic. The "almost irreverent sweetness" is nonetheless a phrase too beautiful not to check out these Manegarm with the focus on the first a! You say Sweden, you say promising stuff hehe. I'll let you know! Bye bye.
Antony & The Johnsons I Am A Bird Now

Undoubtedly, you've piqued my curiosity about this Antony without an 'h', so you've succeeded in your intent. But I also think that the emphasis on personal feeling is excessive and the images created are quite generic, let's say versatile, apart from that of the lush still life. However, I see that most people like this way of reviewing; it’s really a matter of taste. Well, Merry Christmas, which is today, bye bye.
Anti The Insignificance Of Life

How prolific you are, lucky you! Perhaps, after writing so many reviews, one develops a technique and becomes faster, who knows. The reference to Pirandello is beautiful, and that cultured discourse is something I can barely remember, but to be honest, I remember enough to appreciate the meaning of what you're saying, so my inferiority complex is eased by this awareness. Bla bla bla, in the morning I’m always a bit chatty, hehe, I didn’t mean to rhyme with morning. The review has a broad scope, you didn’t even make any grammatical errors that I, as a former teacher, would have caught right away—can’t even criticize you! Yet, women love to criticize men, and well, I’ll just have to wait.
The band? I usually find heavy metal a bit much for my temperament, but I’ll give a couple of tracks a listen, what the heck! Wishing you happy holidays, bye bye.
