For me, this is a great '90s rock album, featuring one of the most excellent interpreters from the Seattle scene. McCready is a very classic rock guitarist and always does a good job. However, the album, in my opinion, has a noticeable upswing in the second half, distinctly influenced by the sound of Alice in Chains. The rating is a 4.5.

Anyway, Easy's comment 42 is worth framing.

Psychedelia between noise and drone...a long disorienting experience in which consciousness is lost and one is carried away, especially in the concluding track, by the dreamlike river that clouds the senses.

Oh my gosh, what a groove this record has!! Irresistible, on par with the best Minutemen and Talking Heads.

For heaven's sake, one can listen to "Le tagliatelle di nonna Pina" and "Trout Mask Replica" on loop on their MP3, it's not illegal. Anyway, I believe everyone has the right to write what they want about any album; in the end, it's the quality of the review that needs to be assessed, and whether or not it effectively conveys the expressive content of the album. That's up to the reader to decide, without being misled by biases regarding the person based on their listening habits. If someone gives 5 stars to both Stadio and Slint, all the better; there's always room for a healthy laugh, right? ;)

<<You might be thinking: "Yeah, yeah, all nice, but when do we get to mosh??">> But who thinks about that kind of stuff while listening to an album? Anyway... I really like the album.

Wonderful review, applause-worthy. I adore the album and think it's one of the most underrated and magnificent records of the '90s. The cover is sublime, the music even more so.

This album on rateyourmusic ranks among the worst 10 albums in history... it must be truly abominable, I even give up the thought of listening to it...

I put off listening to this album for a long time, I don’t know why... maybe I was afraid of being influenced too positively or negatively by the lavish praise that has been lavished upon it. Well, I have to say that it’s truly a great album, aside from the undeniable importance it has (which interests me to a certain extent); on an emotional level, it’s just incredibly enjoyable, particularly with its excellent raw rock attitude led with mastery by a fantastic bass line throughout the tracks, and then the electronic sound experiments, and of course the frenetic singing that has influenced a ton of artists (and also some vocal effects borrowed from the Residents). As for constantly criticizing Scaruffi, I would tread carefully... I mean, I also can’t stand when people take everything anyone says as gospel, but honestly, if I’ve managed to open my mind to new musical genres and appreciate new expressive forms, it’s also been thanks to several artists I discovered through his site. And with this, I’m not attributing him any merit, let that be clear; it’s just that I see people who judge any and all of his opinions as nonsense regardless, and I genuinely don’t think that’s fair.

"Smoking Marijuana...Looking for a Party...And a kilo of Coc-a" great soundtrack, Mexico-bluesy and dusty country of a fantastic cult trash movie. Makes you want to chug whiskey with the background of "Mary Had a Little Lamb"..."If you can find cheaper pussy anywhere else, fuck it!" XD
