In my opinion, the problem lies in the expectations that are created. Someone who has never listened to the album reads hundreds of comments from people who are tearing their hair out and sees 5 stars all over the place as if it were raining, and then imagines who knows what. The album is actually beautiful, but with such high expectations, you automatically become more demanding and stringent in your evaluations.

Nice piece in the link on comment no. 9, the classic heart-wrenching ballad.

One of the most original examples of post-rock from the past decade, in fact, it shouldn't even be labeled with that term because otherwise, you end up immediately thinking of the usual tedious 10-12 minute tracks that are all the same. Here, it's different; it’s not the usual bland mush of instrumental rock, but there’s a variety of styles, a multitude of instruments used, in short, great music. The opener is sublime. Lovers of alternative music, give it a listen; you might discover one of your favorite albums.

I don't deny the skill of the guitarists; I'm simply criticizing the choice of that type of arrangement... for me, the pieces by the Velvet need noise, pathos, and a sense of dishevelment... this album is a pleasant listen but doesn't convey any of what the early VU communicated to me.

Cute live, but the seventies guitar arrangements are a bit basic and take away the verve from the original tracks, see for example "White Light/White Heat."

Yeah, I heard the 3 tracks of "Minutes to Go" on their MySpace, and I have to say these Dissuaders are badass, classic and gritty punk.

hahaha winmx, so many memories! And then there was Shareaza, that was scandalous too... I remember when I downloaded not a song, but a 40-second song snippet and felt so cool... then around 2002-2003 I discovered Emule and as soon as I opened the program I found a file called "Van Halen discography" and I thought I had reached eldorad...hehehe

<<a 3 (three) hour musical based on hip hop, Latin American, and reggaeton... with a grand finale dedicated to "Urlando contro il cielo" by Ligabue>> My god!! I don't think I would even go if Scarlett Johansson begged me on her knees to hook up in a barn right after the show.

Of course I said a bunch of nonsense... I ask for forgiveness from the great Ajeje, by the way that advice on McCoy Tyner was pure gold.

Note: in May 2010 I received the following email from Gibbons: "Yo Scaruffi- what the fuck is yr problem. Knock it off with cutting up our later work you fucking prick", demonstrating a state of mind which might explain the increasingly poor quality of their music.
