So Sylvian: if progressive music imploded at a certain point, it’s certainly not the fault of the ELP; it’s due to the unfortunate arrival of punk, which turned the pure conception of music upside down and technically reduced it to allow access to the less capable, and that’s definitely a shortcoming (of punk, not of ELP!). The fact that much of the criticism considers progressive a minor genre in rock is a huge nonsense that you wanted to throw out (or maybe you let yourself get caught up only in Scaruffi's resentment towards Emerson?). If someone wanted to approach the prog scene, and you can ask anyone who understands music, they should really start with Emerson's Nice instead. And personally, I would like to ask you what genres your critics consider superior.
